Accessibility
KISSA is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible digital experience for everyone, regardless of ability. This commitment is aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, and the legal requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz – BaFG), which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882 on accessibility requirements for products and services.
Accessibility Features Implemented
We have taken the following steps to ensure a barrier-free experience on our website:
-
Full keyboard navigation using Tab, arrow keys, Enter, Esc, and Space
-
Descriptive link texts, logical focus order, and skip links for screen readers
-
All images have alternative text in English and German
-
All forms include clear labels, ARIA attributes, and real-time error feedback
-
Live ARIA alerts and semantic roles for announcements and messages
-
Use of ARIA landmarks (e.g., role="main", role="navigation")
-
Support for screen readers, tested with VoiceOver on macOS
-
Clear checkout process, with instructions and multi-sensory feedback
-
All videos feature captions and include spoken or textual descriptions
Multi-Sensory Content & Usage Instructions
In line with BaFG §4, we ensure that important content and instructions are perceivable via more than one sensory channel, including:
-
Written and spoken formats for product instructions and video content
-
Checkout and form error feedback is delivered visually and textually
-
Accessible display of warnings, tooltips, and user guidance without relying on color alone
Manual Accessibility Testing
In June 2025, we conducted a manual accessibility test including:
-
Full site review based on the WCAG 2.2 checklist up to success criterion 2.5.8
-
Keyboard-only navigation test
-
Real-world user flow testing (e.g., purchasing, newsletter signup)
-
Screen reader tests using VoiceOver on macOS
Ongoing Review & Legal Documentation
In accordance with §18 BaFG, we:
-
Review and reassess our accessibility measures at least once every five years
-
Maintain internal documentation for each assessment, including testing logs, remediation steps, and update records
-
Keep all accessibility compliance records for a minimum of 5 years
Our most recent review was completed in June 2025. We plan to reassess again in June 2026 or upon major design or functionality changes.

Conduct an internal undue burden assessment
-
Document the findings
-
Offer alternative solutions when feasible
Currently, no such exceptions are in effect on this website.
